MHA has donated 425 Easter eggs to a youth organisation in Liverpool to be distributed to young people in the area ahead of Easter weekend.
For the past five years, MHA have made the annual Easter donation to a charity which works with families and young people in one of the communities where we operate.
This year, we identified Speke Adventure Playground, a youth organisation which is part of registered charity Speke Children’s Environment Committee, to distribute this year’s Easter eggs donation.
In addition to operating play facilities on Conleach Road, known locally as ‘The Venny’, Speke Adventure Playground provides free accessible play and youth services across Speke.
The organisation aims to improve the health, wellbeing and access to career and other opportunities for young people in the area.
Michael Spencer, tax partner at our Liverpool office, said:
Traditionally, MHA partners have sent all staff an Easter egg each year. In 2020, when staff were unable to collect their Easter eggs due to lockdown, the donation was instead made to the Salvation Army in Preston, to distribute to less privileged young people across the city.
That donation received so much positive feedback from our staff that each year since we have chosen a different charity that supports young people and families in the communities where we operate.
Speke Adventure Playground is a brilliant organisation with strong links with young people in and around the Speke area and is a perfect partner for this year’s donation. We hope it helps to bring some Easter cheer to families in the Speke area.”
Paula Shaw, chair at Speke Venny Adventure Playground, said:
I would like to express my appreciation on behalf of Speke Adventure playground for the generous donation. The cost-of-living crisis has had a massive effect on families in our community.
Speke Adventure Playground strives to support children and young people and believes that finances should not be a barrier to happy childhood memories and experiences. We wouldn’t be able to do this without support and donations such as this.”
MHA works in partnership with Community Foundation for Lancashire and Merseyside (CFLM), an independent charity which promotes local giving to help address disadvantage. CFLM worked with us to identify Speke Adventure Playground for this year’s donation.
Danny Houghton, partner at MHA, said:
We’ve been working with CFLM since 2022, which has helped us identify local charities and organisations aligned with our purpose project of improving financial education through our 1892 Foundation.
This year, CFLM identified the brilliant work of Speke Adventure Playground and we believe the organisation is a natural partner to distribute this year’s donation.”
