A double win for MHA Corporate Finance at the North East and North West Insider Dealmaker Awards 2020

It was a double win for MHA Corporate Finance in the Insider Dealmaker awards 2020, scooping accolades in both the North East and North West.

The MHA Corporate Finance team were delighted to win the Corporate Finance Advisory Firm of the Year for the North East and Deal of the Year (sub £10m) in the North West awards.

The MHA team, which is led by Corporate Finance Partner Steve Plaskitt, had a very successful qualifying period, being involved in 26 transactions, including the two largest deals in the North East during 2020 - North East Manufacturers HTL Group and a strategic international acquisition for Orchard Information Systems, a leading provider of software solutions to the UK housing sector.

The judges were impressed with the clear focus on client relationships during the COVID pandemic, as well as meeting the growing demand from private equity for Data Analytics.

The MHA Moore and Smalley Corporate Finance and Tax teams advised the shareholders of A Wilderness Way on the deal which secured backing from BGF to support its continued investment in providing critical care to vulnerable children. The Award was shared with BGF, Hill Dickinson, and Browne Jacobson who also worked on the transaction.

The judges said the investment provided a nice exit for shareholders and was an interesting deal.

Both of the Corporate Finance teams also featured highly in the Experian MarketIQ report on the UK and Republic of Ireland M&A review for Q1 2021, having completed 18 deals between them.
