Treasury of Finance Announces Start of Advance Payments for Minimum Tax by Multinationals and Large Domestic Groups

On 2 September 2024, the Treasury of Finance announced that multinationals and large domestic groups with a company number issued after obligatory notification can now make advance payments for the minimum tax. Companies must make the advance payments at the latest by 20 December 2024.

The advance payments can be made through MyMinfin, the VA Pillar Two module or by transfer.

Belgium are 'leading the way' - After a comprehensive and urgent Pillar 2 notification requirement over the summer, this new development confirms Top Up Tax prepayments could be due in Belgium for impacted Groups before the end of 2024, with the ultimate deadline set for 20 December 2024.
