On 2 September 2024, the Ministry of Finance announced that multinationals and large domestic groups with a company number issued after obligatory notification can now make advance payments for the minimum tax. Companies must make the advance payments at the latest by 20 December 2024.

The advance payments can be made through MyMinfin, the VA Pillar Two module or by transfer.

More details can be found at the Pillar Two website page and the Pillar Two e-service page.

The full text of the announcement of 2 September 2024 is available here (in Dutch) and here (in French).

Belgium are 'leading the way' - After a comprehensive and urgent Pillar 2 notification requirement over the summer, this new development confirms Top Up Tax prepayments could be due in Belgium for impacted Groups before the end of 2024, with the ultimate deadline set for 20 December 2024.
