Manchester Finance Directors' Network Event
Event location: Ringway Golf Club Hale Road Hale Barn Altrincham WA15 8SW
If you were out and about in the North West this summer you could be forgiven for forgetting that, according to the media, the UK economy, is in dire straits.
Shops, bars, hotels and restaurants were busy, consumers were actually consuming – so why is the press telling us the opposite? Of course, we’re not so naïve to believe this is case everywhere in the region, but perhaps things aren’t as bad as we’re being told?
What is the truth about our economy?
- Is it performing better than reported?
- Or, is a recession still likely?
- Could interest rates peak further?
- How is the North West faring compared to the rest of the UK?
- What can FDs take from the figures to help their businesses prosper?
Join us for our economic seminar with keynote speaker, Alan Budenberg, where he will try and make sense of the data we are seeing, consider what it is telling us and help us interpret some of the information.
Alan Budenberg is a Director in the Barclays Investment Team and is a regular speaker on economic and market matters. He has over 30 years’ experience with Barclays and his briefings are always interesting and thought provoking.
Do you have a question you would like answered? Email it to us in advance and Alan will answer it during the session.
Alan has appeared on the Barclays podcast “Word on the Street”, with his views and thoughts. He is a past regional president of the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment and lectures on Investments at Manchester Business School.
