Job description
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Marketing Manager to join our firm in London. The successful candidate will be instrumental in identifying and driving opportunities to support the growth of our London office and three of its core strategic sectors: technology, pharma and life sciences, as well as consumer industries. Drawing on the experience and sector knowledge of our specialist partners, you will be able to develop your own knowledge and understanding of these sectors.
This role requires a deep understanding of the London business environment, coupled with hands-on experience in developing and executing marketing and business development plans, while regularly reporting on progress and achievements.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the professional services industry and possess exceptional interpersonal skills, be adept at building and maintaining excellent working relationships, and will thrive in collaborating, supporting, and working closely with stakeholders and partners at all levels of seniority across the business.
You will be part of the wider marketing team, drawing on all of the firms resources across the marketing mix and will work closely with our other Business Development specialists to achieve targets, with the support of a dedicated regional marketing executive.
Main responsibilities
- Work closely with partners to develop, implement and deliver on comprehensive annual marketing and business development plans tailored to the core strategic sectors, and the London market, taking responsibility for achieving desired goals.
- Manage and drive growth within the core sectors by working closely with partners to leverage their specialist knowledge and expertise.
- Undertake your own research to build understanding of your allocated sectors, potential opportunities, marketplace, competition, and trends.
- Write and edit engaging content relevant to our target market, including articles, social media posts, and thought leadership pieces, to support PR and brand building objectives, while regularly reviewing marketing collateral to ensure it is up to date.
- Drive engagement and lead generation efforts to align with business growth objectives, strategically integrating prospect targeting, while actively researching opportunities to engage suitable potential clients and maintain a strong pipeline of pending opportunities.
- Champion innovative campaigns, tailored to the needs of clients, contacts and prospects, ensuring a clear purpose, target audience and budget.
- Building a deep understanding of existing clients and sector credentials to effectively drive client engagement and service line penetration.
- Co-ordinate and deliver relevant events for clients, targets and introducers that produce a good return on investment through deepened relationships and increased opportunities, ensuring relevant feedback is gathered from attendees, analysed and followed up.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance the firm's visibility and reputation within the London business community, developing a well-researched and considered business case where additional expenditure may be necessary.
- Identify and build relationships with sector specialists, legal professionals, financial institutions, and other relevant stakeholders to elevate the firm's visibility and expand its network by actively engaging with local business links, attending relevant events, and conducting follow-up activities as needed to promote our firm and support business development.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities to inform strategy and tactics, with a focus on setting the pace in the industry rather than simply following competitors' initiatives.
- Collaborate with other members of the marketing, digital and BD team to leverage firm-wide resources, support cross-functional initiatives, share best practice, gain specialist input into campaigns and to utilise campaign resources developed in other business areas where appropriate.
- Act as a proactive member of the central marketing team, contributing ideas, support, and leadership as needed.
- Provide Line Management and actively support the professional development for the regional Marketing Executive.
- Deliver regular reports on progress, achievements, and key metrics related to sector-specific marketing and business development efforts, including statistics on marketing activity undertaken, leads generated and any insights from competitor research.
