Neil has worked in accountancy practices for over 40 years, primarily within accounts and taxation relating to small companies, partnerships and sole traders. This experience helps in being aware of the day-to-day issues that may arise within business and possible outcomes that arise. Being the current finance director of Canterbury golf club also means that these practical issues and difficulties can also be seen from ‘the other side of the fence’ rather than purely from an accountants/advisors perspective.
Neil moved to a specialist healthcare firm 12 years or so ago, and this work has primarily (but not exclusively) been within the healthcare sector. With the ever increasing complexity within the sector, liaising with practice managers on accounting and recording processes and the annual financial statements are a particular focus, together with liaising with our in house specialist tax team over subsequent tax return matters.
