4 members of the MHA team in Edinburgh are taking part in the infamous Great Glen Challenge on 30th August! Allan Smith, Blair Paterson, Lynn Dyer and Jack Maclaurin are all gearing up for a unique and exhilarating one-day team event designed for businesses. Team MHA will traverse a stunning 49km route from Fort Augustus to Fort William. The challenge includes a variety of activities, including a mountain bike ride, kayaking, walking and running, all set against the breathtaking backdrop of Scottish scenery.

Blair Paterson, Accounts Director, shared his thoughts on the training process:

The training is going well. I hadn’t originally planned to do the running element; however, my colleague who was lined up for the event had to pull out unfortunately. I subsequently downloaded a running app for the accountability of sticking to a training plan for the event. This has involved some longer runs, together with interval training. I have also signed up for the Scottish half marathon 12 days before the event to ensure my body can hold up to a 17km trail run for the Great Glen Challenge.”

However, the RSABI Great Glen Challenge is not just about physical endurance; it’s about making a real difference in the lives of those in the agricultural community. Jack Maclaurin, Accounts Junior commented:

This event supporting the agricultural community is important to me as it helps raise awareness for the support that people involved in Scottish farming can require. It also does that in a way that makes it fun and exciting for those participating and raising money.”

Agriculture is the backbone of these rural areas and this event offers a chance to give back to those who sustain it. By participating, MHA is showing our solidarity and support for a cause that provides vital assistance to individuals in need.

By joining the RSABI Great Glen Challenge, our team is helping to raise awareness and funds for RSABI, a charity dedicated to supporting people in Scottish agriculture. The involvement of our team ensures that RSABI can continue offering financial aid, emotional support and practical guidance to those who need it most. This event also serves as a fantastic team-building opportunity, whilst also contributing to such a worthy cause.
